All-New 2018 Hyundai Sonata - Weatherford TX

The All-New 2018 Hyundai Sonata - A Very Good Thing Just Got Even Better

When your starting point is a car that's been acclaimed as a Best Family Sedan by Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com¹ and a 2017 Best Midsize Car of the Money by U.S. News & World Report², it's not easy finding room for improvement, but that's just what the all-new 2018 Hyundai Sonata has done. That's why Jerry's Hyundai is proud to offer the all-new 2018 Hyundai Sonata to our customers.

The sculptural forms of Sonata's dynamic new shape were created in Hyundai's California Design Studio. From its cascading grille and signature LED Daytime Running Lights in front to its reimagined tail lights around back, Sonata's fluid lines are highly expressive, and exceedingly functional - catamaran-like lower bumper contours highlight an aerodynamic surface that helps improve fuel economy and quell wind noise.

The all-new Sonata is also flush with technologies that keep you safer (it's the only car in its class offering Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist standard³) and more connected (Hyundai Blue Link® is now complimentary for your first three years⁴).

The abundance of enhancements extend to steering that's been tuned for greater precision, giving the all-new Sonata a confident and athletic handling feel. Yet you'll also discover it has the spacious comfort of a luxury car, including class-leading passenger and cargo volume.⁵ With a wide range of trims to choose from, the all-new Sonata even leaves room for the most important thing of all: Your personal preferences.

Compare 6 Sonata Trims

Feature Updates:  + (Plus) trims now include a fresh grille design, and popular features like wireless device charging and dual automatic temperature control.

Hyundai is piling on some extra features and cutting the price on the new 2018 Sonata + (Plus) value editions, and you get to reap the benefits. According to Hyundai, the equipment and pricing of these mid-year value editions can equal a nice discount. But the best change Hyundai made was making safety and driver-assistance tech features like automatic emergency braking more available at a better price. The Plus versions are on sale now and affect most of the trim levels, with the exception of the base SE and high-mileage Eco.

What's so practical about the new Sonata? It's perfect for practically everyone.

A midsize sedan has to satisfy a very diverse set of drivers. Instead of compromising with a one-size-fits-all approach, the all-new Sonata uses purposefully chosen innovations like Drive Model Select to transform itself into precisely the kind of sedan you want. Tell Sonata what's most important to you - comfort, fuel economy, or a sport feel - and it alters the response of everything from the engine and transmission to the steering so your Sonata drives in that mode. The 2.0T model also include a Smart setting that adjusts the drive model to best fit your driving character.

The all-new Sonata has a range of engines, each with a specific purpose. The base Sonata's 2.4L engine balances smooth power with fuel-sipping economy. On other Sonata models, turbocharged engines create exceptional power without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

Sonata Eco's 1.6L turbocharged powerplant is connected to the segment's first 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, producing more horsepower and torque than the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu 1.5T and 2017 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T - while still achieving better fuel economy.⁷

In the top-of-the-line Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T models, Sonata's 245-horsepower engine uses a twin-scroll turbocharger and new 8-speed automatic transmission to maximize performance with extra power off-the-line. With a quieter, more fuel-efficient dash down the interstate, who knew being so practical could get you exactly what you wanted?

For the performance-minded among you, the new Sonata takes some exciting turns.

With their stiff suspensions, sporty sedans have always sacrificed some measure of ride comfort to give the driver a better feel for the road. In the all-new Sonata, Hyundai engineers have found a better way. With a recalibrated steering system and new rear suspension design, Sonata delivers a win-win - handling that's more precise without compromising ride comfort.

It's a new level of driving calm and confidence that also delivers the maneuverability of a 35.6-foot turning radius - the tightest in its class.⁸ And all of that twin-scroll turbo thrust on Sonata 2.0T models? It's matched by a sport-tuned suspension, the stopping power of larger-diameter front disc brakes and a new, silky-smooth 8-speed automatic transmission that generates better acceleration off the line with improved fuel efficiency at higher speeds.

To signal their sportier character, the Sonata Sport, Sport 2.0T, and Limited 2.0T models feature unique design cues like vertical LED Daytime Running Lights, a cascading mesh grille, a rear air diffuser, and a dual chrome-tipped exhaust. Step inside the Sport 2.0T or Limited 2.0T and performance-inspired details are all around you. Check out the leather-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, sport seats with leather side bolsters, and aluminum pedals, and notice how your pulse get elevated, even before you take your first turn.

It's called Sonata Limited, but admittedly, it's a bit of an indulgence.

Considering the average American spends about 300 hours a year driving, and sits in traffic for the equivalent of a 40-hour work week, a healthy dose of comfort and luxury is not an unreasonable expectation. So, it is without apology that Hyundai presents their most luxurious Sonata models ever: The all-new 2018 Sonata Limited and Limited 2.0T.

They make the most of the all-new Sonata's class-leading interior space with a level of standard and available premium features that's equally exceptional. Soothing heat or cooling ventilation keeps front seat occupants comfortable, while the relaxation of rear seat passengers is enhanced by privacy shades that raise to cover the side windows.

Two individual driver seat and side-view mirror positions can be programmed into Sonata's Integrated Memory System. The driver's hands are warmed by a heated three-spoke steering wheel, and on Sonata Limited 2.0T, its full-leather seating is accented by contrast stitching.

If all of this is starting to sound good to you, wait until you hear Sonata's available 400-watt Infinity® premium audio system. With 10 speakers strategically placed to turn the Limited's interior into a concert hall, it'll make your commute time the best part of your day.

The new Sonata raises the standards for safety among midsize sedans.

Hyundai didn't earn the most brand-loyal customers in the automotive industry for nine consecutive years16 by being followers. Their customers expect them to lead. especially when it comes to safety. That's why the all-new 2018 Sonata is the first car in its class to make safety innovations like Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist standard on every model.⁹  They've made other advanced safety technologies available as well, including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection10 and Lane Departure Warning with a new Lane Keep Assist function.11

In doing so, Hyundai is helping Sonata drivers be more aware of their surroundings by alerting them to the potential for collisions before they happen, and actively engaging in certain circumstances if a forward collision appears imminent. The all-new Sonata's crash protection starts with a body made of 51 percent advanced high-strength steel components, and also includes 7 standard airbags: dual front, side, and curtain, as well as a driver's knee airbag. Does Hyundai expect other midsize sedans to follow their lead and make more safety innovations standard? For everyone's benefit, we sincerely hope so.

Sometimes, all you need is a new perspective.

That's what the all-new Sonata's available navigation system gives you. Its high-resolution 8" touchscreen displays your choice of 2D or 3D views on the route map. Junction view lane guidance helps navigate complex interchanges, while new HERE HD Traffic provides real-time traffic flow and incident data without requiring a paid subscription service. A split-screen display also lets you view navigation and music settings at a glance.

You can operate Sonata's audio and navigation systems using your choice of fingertip steering wheel controls, touchscreen, or voice commands. For added convenience, mixed presets let you call up your favorite AM, FM, and SiriusXM® stations without having to switch radio bands.

You can also activate Hyundai Blue Link® Remote features without using your smartphone - simply talk to your Google Home or Amazon Echo device inside your house, and Sonata's Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice service integration does the rest. Ask your Sonata to start the engine and turn on its climate controls while you finish your morning coffee, and it becomes obvious why independent surveys consistently rank Hyundai's navigation and connectivity features among the industry's best.
